Amaya Barrett
Amaya Barrett is a senior at Kent County High School from Chestertown, Maryland. Her hobbies are photography and camping. She is undecided on enlisting in the Navy or going straight into college after high school. She wants to pursue either environmental science or nursing. Her introduction to music came from her dad Big Mixx and her favorite artists are Rod Wave and Rex Orange County. She was excited about the HipHop Time Capsule because it has helped her be more outgoing and outspoken. She also enjoys learning about the history of Kent County and writing about it.

Maya Papaya is a nickname that came from her grandmother Janey Barrett. She selected this name because it rhymes and is catchy. Maya Papaya is different from Amaya because Amaya is not a rapper.
