Joyell Arvella ('10)

Joyell Arvella graduated from Washington College in 2010 as the first-ever recipient of the Vincent Hynson scholarship. Originally on a pre-med track, Joyell fought to create and declare a self-designed Black Studies major.

Joyell also spent a semester studying abroad in Egypt and served as one of the first Secretaries of Diversity for the Student Government Association. Currently, she works as an adjunct law professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and is a certified Doula.
